Hail to the Redskins, Let's go CAPS?

I am not sure what is going on with sports teams in the nation's capital these days. The Wizards, which I could care less about have lost three in a row, the Capitals have lost 10 out of their last 12 games, the D.C. United got bumped out of the first round of the playoffs due to "aggregate goals," and the Redskins find a way to look more and more horrible each week.
Since I don't really care about Soccer or Basketball, I will talk about the Caps and the Redskins.

First the Caps, after signing some decent players in the off season, Tom Poti, Michael Nylander, Victor Kozlov, the season looked bright. We now have a legitimate power play quarter back some quality forwards in the above mentioned. Wait we aslo have Semin, Green, Clark, Backstrom, and some guy that goes by the name of Ovechkin. We will easily score at least 3 plus goals a game for sure, wrong! Our power play is dreadful, our goals for average dismal, and our penalty kill mediocre at best. So here we are with Poti, Semin, and Clark injured and we have been shut out two of the last three games, outstanding!
Now the Redskins, what is there to say. They somehow have a wining record at 5-3 not sure how since it looks like they have not opened the playbook since the opening game. Let me give you a synopsis of the redskins playbook, run on first down, run on second down, throw to Cooley on third and long. Now since every coach on the Redskins seem to have the title of "Assistant Head Coach," who knows who the actual play caller is but I think it is safe to say that it is Gibbs or Saunders. Now I am not sure if they share duties or depending on which down it is if Gibbs has veto power, but here is a little suggestion, LET IT RIP! Open up the playbook, you tight wads! I know Cambell is young and not extremely experienced but let him throw down the field for more than seven yards, please. Now I love Portis but let's admit that he has not produced like he has in the past and the JETS game does not count because the Jets have the worst defense in the league and my grandmother could have at least ran 100 yards on them. That is all for now.

Washington Capitals Opening Night

As some may know I am a fan of hockey and in particular the Washington Capitals . Tonight is the opening night for the Caps and with a few off-season moves; it shall be interesting to see how things go. This is one of the most highly anticipated seasons for Caps fans in a long while (of course this is not saying much, since the last several seasons have been dreadful, think Cincinnati Bengal’s, post Boomer.) So I implore everyone to crack a few cold one’s and keep your tube locked on CSN, as long as you’re in the D.C. area you should be able to see the game. I just hope I can sit through Joe Beninati and former Washington Capital Craig Laughlin’s terrifically insightful banter. Craig Laughlin is about as un-gay as Elton John.

Side note: Watch how many times Laughlin leans over and tries to kiss Beni, I’m setting the over/under at an even bakers dozen.
